Halo volunteers at First Presbyterian After School Outreach Ministries

February 18, 2010

Don’t you just love kids?  We do.  And that’s why Halo volunteered at the After School Outreach Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Orlando, FL.  While Halo was in Orlando for a visit, the nice folks at First Presbyterian asked us to come over and speak to the youth in their after school outreach program.  At Halo, we believe everyone has a God-given talent, but these kids were particularly amazing.  The precious kids in the First Presbyterian outreach program have had a rough go of it, most of them from the inner-city and some handicapped.  We went to inspire the kids to reach their full potential no matter what circumstances they’ve faced.  But when it was all over, we were the ones inspired.  We all have so much for which to be grateful.  Thank you, First Presbyterian, for an inspirational afternoon.

Halo child actress lands on Broadway

February 18, 2010

We knew she was cute.  We knew she was smart and witty, even for a five year old.  We knew she would go far when she left Georgia and moved to New York City…but we didn’t see Broadway on the horizon. Mary Stewart Sullivan has just landed a role in the new Broadway show “Enron” scheduled to open at the Broadhurst Theater in NYC, April 27.   Sullivan plays the daughter of Enron’s CEO Jeff Skilling.  Congratulations, Mary Stewart.  We will see you in NYC!

Richmond Hill High School student signs with Ford Models

February 18, 2010

Normally red hair and freckles are made fun of.  Not this time.   Anna Lewis, our 16 year old red headed beauty from Richmond Hill High School put those freckles to use and gained the attention of the lead scout from Ford Models.   In April, Anna will head to NYC to test shoot with top photographers from Ford Models, where we are sure Anna will put to use all of the techniques she learned through her modeling courses at Halo.   We are so proud…and we expect big things from you, Miss Anna.  Congratulations!

Halo Fashion Division auditions for Miami Agency

October 15, 2009

Halo isn’t just a local agency.   Our contacts stretch from New York and Miami to Dallas and L.A.  The best way to be seen by reputable agencies in larger markets is to be plugged into a local agency.

“Not only the best quality, but the best quantity” was the compliment Halo owner Stephanie Duke received from Dan Ryan, head of scouting for 301 Models in Miami.   Mr.  Ryan was scouting the Southeast for 301’s new faces division.  The fashion season in Miami is just around the corner and 301 is ready to bring some new faces to their agency.

Savannah teen headed to Hollywood

August 14, 2009

Kristina StarWhen we took the picture of Kristina Sutlive on Hollywood Blvd., the Savannah teen said, “It’s only a matter of time until my name is on this star.”

How long it will take before the Savannah native is a Hollywood star, no one knows.  But at Halo, Kristina is already a star.

After receiving news that Kristina had a callback for the Disney movie “Starstruck,” the owner of Halo, Stephanie Duke and the young teen boarded a flight to L.A.   Friday, August 1, Stephanie and Kristina walked into Hollywood Center Studios, where the aspiring actress auditioned for the Disney role.

While we are not sure if she will be offered the part, she was offered contracts by the top talent agencies in L.A.

KrisStephLAGraftonAfter consulting with Halo and her family, Kristina has decided to sign with an L.A. manager and top talent agency, Kazarian, Spencer, Ruskin & Associates (KSR).  Kristina, former student at Calvary Day School, will be home-schooled over the next year and plans to live in L.A. full time.  We ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations, Kristina!

Halo goes Back to School

August 14, 2009

It’s that time of year.  Summer is beginning to close her lazy eyes and call it a season.  And we know what that means… pull out those uniforms, kids… it’s time to go back to school.

Speaking of uniforms, Halo kids modeled the latest school uniform fashions at the Savannah Morning News Back to School Expo. Sunday, July 26, more than 1,000 families came out to watch the fashion show, visit with vendors and eat the most delicious popcorn we’ve tasted outside of the theater.  Halo kids Leilani, Kline, Skye, Coletrain, Kristina, Harley and Seth modeled back to school fashions from Savannah Mall.

Check out the photos and don’t miss it next year!
