It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Halo! We are in rehearsals for the 3rd annual Halo Christmas Extravaganza. Come watch our comedy-variety show featuring more than 60 local performers in the areas of acting, singing, dancing and fashion. The performers come from all around the Savannah metro area. We will also feature a “Grab an Autograph” session with some of our Halo stars who are home from …NYC for Christmas. Come watch the Winter Wonderland Fashion Show and hear some of our Halo singers perform Christmas selections.This year the Christmas show has moved to The Hyatt Regency Riverfront in downtown Savannah. The show is Sunday, December 11 at 7 PM. Doors at 6:30 PM. Tickets will available at the door or you may pre-purchase tickets at Halo. Adults $15. Children under 12 are $10.

Halo Models for the Telfair Acedemy Guild’s The Art of Great Fashion

It was a night of fun and fashion at fall’s most elegant evening of style sponsored by Chatham Parkway Lexus with fashions by Gaucho. The evening began with a chance to bid in the themed silent auction, followed by a fashion show by Halo Models. Fashions were provided by Gaucho Boutique which included selctions from designers like Ray Harris. The work of a surprise designer, artist Marcus Kinney, provided the accessories inspired by his taxidermy craft. His wearable art astonished the audience as fur, feathers, fishhooks and flashbulbs joined horns and hive to top the head, surround the neck and dangle from the ears! Halo Models’s Fashion Spread in South Magazine!

Halo Sends Model to Paris

October, 2011: Meet Marshall. Bible Baptist class of 2010. Halo model, Savannah native, honorary New Yorker and now a Parisian! His story is one for the record books.

In February 2010, owner of Halo Models, Stephanie Duke, took Marshall to New York City on “rounds” to meet agencies. Stephanie scheduled private appointments with ten of the top fashion agencies in NY.

Along with Marshall’s dad, the three of them made their way from agency to agency meeting with Stephanie’s contacts. Because Stephanie acts as a mother agent, she is able to schedule private appointments for new models with her NY agent buddies.

The trip was bitter-sweet. The agents liked Marshall’s look, but no one signed him because his body needed to fit a jacket size 41-42. Marshall was not quite a 40.

It was a tough pill to swallow to come home without a contract. Perseverance must be Marshall’s middle name.

In August, Marshall decided to take a leap of faith. He moved to NYC and got a part time job…and…a gym membership.

Fast forward to January 3, 2011. Stephanie, Marshall’s mother agent, is back in New York City to introduce a new group of models to agents. Marshall is part of that group.

Can you believe that the same agency that said no to Marshall only eleven months earlier this time LOVED his look?

Seventy-two hours later, Marshall signed a contract with Fusion walked in Merceds-Benz Fashion Week, shot for Ecko Unltd and was the winner of the Perry Ellis Most Wanted Model contest.

Marshall’s career continues to expand. After a successful year in NYC, Marshall boarded a plane and flew to Paris Monday, October 3, 2011 to begin working with his new agency, Marilyn’s Men. www.MarilynAgency.com

Mackenzie Dances His Way to a NY Contract

It’s official! Mackenzie Johnson, Savannah Arts Academy graduate, has signed with Abram’s Artist in NYC. Abram’s is on of the nations most respected literary and talent agencies representing clients in the areas of motion pictures, television, animation, theater, radio and television commercials, hosting and broadcasting, and all forms of narration. After his graduation, Mackenzie attend Connect NYC with Halo where he met his future NY agent. He is what we call a triple threat. Mac performed a a tv commercial script and an improvisation for the acting agents. He walked in the runway review and the body review for the fashion agents. Then he moved our hearts with a dramatic ballet piece. Mackenzie is a permanent resident of NYC now…he’s a New Yorker. He also walked in th 2011 Mercedes-Benz fashion week.

Thursday, January 13, 2011: Halo agency is bustling with beautiful women.

Why?

Savannah Magazine is looking for a new face for their Spring fashion spread.

One by one, the models went in to audition for the client. The girls walked runway and went through an interview process. Quickly the girls learned that it takes more than a pretty face and a killer walk to win over a client. Selections have been made for the fashion spread…but we are sworn to secrecy. Go pick up a copy when the issue hits stands this Spring in Savannah.

Halo Model, Duston, is officially "Bi-Coastal"

Duston Rogers, Halo male new face, has signed with NY Model Management and with Vision Models in L.A. His story is one for the record books. Duston’s family lives in Glenn County and they raise chickens. There must be something in those chickens that turned this sweet teenage boy to a male super model in the making. Duston is currently on option for Abercrombie Kids through his L.A. agency, Vision. Stayed tuned…we expect this is only the beginning for Duston.
