30 Hopefuls Auditioned for ABC's "Great American Beauty" at Halo Studios

Approximately 30 people converged on Halo Models & Talent studio in Savannah this past Friday to audition in hopes of landing one of the coveted spots in ABC’s upcoming new reality show, The Great American Beauty.

The folks casting this new show for ABC are the same folks who have casted such successful shows as Hell’s Kitchen and America’s Got Talent. 30 people were selected to audition from the many who applied. Each audition lasted an average of 30 minutes.

It was a long day but we’re glad Halo Talent could be a part of the process.

Corey Sligh: All My Children

Halo Discovery, Corey Sligh, has an extensive resume.  Let’s start with his work in NY with Adam NYC where he walked in fashion week and worked for Deisel.  His soap career began in NY, too.  Corey has had a reoccuring role on All My Children and it ended in L.A. in August 2011.  Corey also doubled for Steve Carrel in the film, Get Smart. Corey is in the entire opening scene, as a body double, begins with the alarm clock scene and goes through him checking off a lit and putting on a suit. Go Corey! Corey is with the Osbrink Agency in L.A.

Jordan Black

On a Sunday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jordan was having a sub sandwich with his mom, Sheila. The director of Halo just happen to walk into the same Quizno’s. While the subs were appetizing, the most impressive part of that Quizno’s sandwhich shop was Jordan Black. He’s an incredible young man. Just 16 years old at the time, Jordan was grounded, confident and what we consider, an old soul. Jordan later moved to Atlanta where he was signed with Elite Model Management.

Feature Film Casting – Tooth Fairy by Twentieth Century Fox

Halo Models & Talent Group has been contacted about a national casting call for the feature film Tooth Fairy by Twentieth Century Fox.  (See below for details on how to prepare and what to bring.)  Roles are for a ten year old, caucasian male and a six year old, caucasian female.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting in September in Vancouver, Canada and stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Johnson will play Derek a minor league hockey player nicknamed “The Tooth Fairy” for his tendency to knock the teeth of his opponents out on the ice. When Derek tells his girlfriend’s young daughter that the Tooth Fairy is not real, he is tapped by magical forces to serve as a Tooth Fairy for two weeks as punishment.

Roles Casting

RANDY

10 years old, Caucasian. MALE, very bright and observant, potentially a gifted guitar player, Randy is Carly’s son, a good kid who is somewhat withdrawn and guarded; he’s a burgeoning EMO, rather pale, with longish hair covering his eyes and a surly attitude. Well aware that his father left the family to run off with another woman, Randy does not trust his mother’s suitors easily, and initially regards Derek as just another insincere smarmy creep who wants to make brief small talk with him then take his mother away. But Randy soon recognizes that Derek, though quite odd, has a determination to hang in there that the others lack, and he comes to rather enjoy Derek’s company. In fact, Randy needs the kind of parental attention that only a father can give, and he bonds quite closely with Derek — until Derek decides to vent his bitterness about the hopelessness of human endeavor at precisely the wrong moment…LEAD

TESS

6 years old, Caucasian, an adorable girl, Tess is Carly’s youngest child, who dotes on Derek and likes to play with him. But Tess has a screaming fit when her money from the Tooth Fairy is stolen and Derek loudly informs her that there ain’t no such animal. Emotionally bruised by the encounter, it takes Tess a while to regain her confidence in Derek — but when he becomes the real Tooth Fairy, her affection is rekindled…LEAD

Halo Preliminary Audition Information:

Preliminary auditions will be held Wednesday, July 30, 4 PM at the Halo studio.  (See the Contact page for directions to the Halo studio)  All children interested in auditioning will be asked to read a short script (given to them upon arrival) and participate in a brief interview.  All children must bring a current snapshot and wear a solid color shirt.  Everyone is requested to show at 4 PM.  There is no need to arrive any earlier than 4 PM.   Call backs will be given out on an individual basis and some may be asked to come in again to read specific lines from the movie.  Please RSVP for an audition by emailing haloagency@bellsouth.net

ABC TV casting in Savannah for "Great American Beauty"

Halo Models and Talent Group is proud to be participating in the audition process for ABC TV’s latest reality show. “The Great American Beauty” will give the most gorgeous people the opportunity to show America just how beautiful they really are.  The casting is open to males and females ages 18-30, all ethnicities.  The show is looking for ten people to compete for the title of “Great American Beauty” and a huge cash prize.   Preliminary casting is through photo submission.  If selected, you will be contacted and requested for an interview July 24, here in Savannah.

Feel free to tell friends and family members about this casting.  It is open to everyone…as long as you are open to being on television! Email your pictures as soon as possible! (see instructions below)

Instructions:

All photos must be received by Monday, July 21, 2008.

Please submit all images in jpg format and downsize photos to reduce download times.  We highly recommend that you seek assistance with this process if you are not familiar with emailing photos.  Photos that take too long to open or download will be discarded.

Please include your height, age and one contact phone number.

Only two pictures per person allowed. The first one should be a headshot, taken from about the chest up.  The second shot should be a body shot.  The client would like to see your build.  All photos must be in good taste.  Photos with lingerie or distasteful poses WILL NOT be accepted.  Submissions with more than two photos will be disqualified.

All rules must be followed properly to guarantee submission.

Ramsey Allen, Fashionista

Ramsey graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy in 2010 and she has been in Miami, FL since. Ramsey is working with Runways Talent Group in Miami. Ramsey was also featured in South Magazine in August of 2009.

Redefining Beauty: Andi Cummings

Andi’s story breaks all the rules of fashion modeling. She didn’t begin modeling until her 30s. Andi is a successful model with Curve Style in NYC and she is also with Real People, Atlanta. Andi is a constant face of the Georgia Bridal Shows. She has modeled for Macy’s, Dillards, Kohl’s, Liz Claiborne, Spanx, and Lane Bryant.
